THE QUEENS JUBILEE HALLMARK GOLD NECKLACE (Limited Edition)

To mark Her Late Majesty The Queen becoming the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, the British Hallmarking Council created a hallmark, which depicts ‘EIIR’ over ‘70’ within an orb.

To commemorate the momentous occasion, we have created a limited addition collection of jewellery which is stamped and decorated with the Jubilee hallmark.

This necklace has a handmade pendant in 9 carat yellow gold which features the Queens Jubilee hallmark on one side and the other 5 hallmarks on the back, and hangs on a beautiful barleycorn chain.

What is a hallmark?

Hallmarking refers to a number of marks that are applied to pieces of precious metals (platinum, gold, palladium or silver). This shows that it has been independently tested and verified, providing consumer protection and confidence and ensuring that the precious metals used to create each item meet a set standard.

UK hallmark provides a unique and identifying feature to any design. Dating back to the 14th century, UK hallmarking has provided customers with a sign of excellence, origin and approval on all jewellery passed through their Assay Offices for inspection. 

The marks consist of-

Makers mark- Who made your jewellery.

Traditional pictorial mark- What metal your jewellery is made from.

The standard mark- Indicates the fineness of the metal.

The assay mark- Where your jewellery was hallmarked.

The date mark- This will show a letter which will indicate the year your jewellery was made.
